TIPS I LEARNT AT TBP BLOGGERS BRUNCH

TBP Bloggers Brunch was the first ever bloggers event I attended and I didn’t regret doing so. I had so much fun and I met other amazing bloggers. I already talked about my experience at the Lagos Brunch on my personal blog (aminatawastories.com) what I want to share with you guys today, especially those who for one reason or the other could not attend the brunch at either of the venues (Lagos or Abuja) are the tips I learnt at the bloggers brunch especially from our guest speaker, Noble Igwe. When he started answering the questions Demi Akin asked him, I almost cried when I realised that I had left my jotter at home (lol). Anyways I was able to commit to memory some of the things he said. Here are some the things he talked about that I found very helpful (I am not quoting him verbatim):

Pick what works for you and stick it: Here, he was basically talking about originality and consistency and he even used TY Bello and her extensions as example. When you stick to a certain style people will know you for it, that way you might even become an inspiration for others. Like TY Bello did for most girls and their natural hair game. When your originality starts to speak for you, you have moved a step forward in the blogging game. Your blog needs to have a focus so that your readers will not be confused.

Know your readers: if I remember correctly, he talked about knowing your readers, he even mentioned something about knowing when they are awake, and the time they operate with and stuff like that. Knowing when your readers are awake and available will help increase traffic to your blog. You also have to know what they want; what they want to read, what bothers them, what they would like to try, what they want to wear, places they would like to see etc. He went ahead and said that people sometimes like things that are unattainable, if those are the kind of readers you have, then give them something they can’t attain. Study your readers properly and it would have a huge impact on your blog’s success.

It doesn’t have/need to be extravagant: Use the available resources you have, you don’t need to kill yourself looking for something expensive, find something cheap and make it look expensive if your readers want something expensive. He used the example of taking pictures in front of his door before he leaves for work; his gateman takes most of the pictures. Now that’s someone who is rich and can afford studio sessions as many times as he likes. Basically, what I am trying to say is that whether its beauty, fashion, food, inspiration, travel, sports etc. whatever type of blogging you do inspiration can be drawn for the cheapest of things.

These are the few things I am very certain he talked about and I learnt a great deal from his words, and I hope I have been able to pass on the knowledge the best way I can.
