7 Things To Start Doing To Be Successful With Your Blog This Year

7 Things To Start DoingTo Be Successful With Your Blog This Year

They say only an insane person keeps doing the same things over and over again and expects a different result. That means that if you really want to take your blog seriously and be on top of your blogging game this year, there are a couple of habits you should adopt to ensure you achieve your blog goals.

  1. Plan your posts in advance

I read somewhere that planning is what makes your blog go from a side gig to serious and I agree 100%. the thing is when you plan out your blog content ahead, you never left staring at the computer screen with nothing to write about. Planning makes you blog with intent and it shows in the kind of content you put out. You can have times where you just sit, brainstorm and come up with ideas and other times where you actually plan out the content and schedule them.

  1. Start networking

It may be hard to promote yourself initially but start meeting people and telling them about your blog and what you do. Connect with other bloggers, brands, influencers both online and offline. Building up this kind of connections, attending networking events, joining social blogger networks are all ways of putting yourself out there, letting people that matter become aware of what you offer and opening yourself up to opportunities and recommendations when the time arises.

3.Give your all in every post

One thing about successful bloggers is they put a lot of effort into their work and it’s obvious. Make sure your posts are as complete and as good as they can be before you publish. Don’t give an incomplete work, disorganised, shabbily written posts just because you want to put out content. Have a purpose for each post you create and achieve it by putting yourself in your readers’ shoes. Proofread and edit wherever necessary. let your images be top notch, do enough research before you post about anything and not just you but your readers as well will see the difference in the quality of your posts.

4.Create a community

Creating a community where your readers have a sense of belonging and feel a connection is very important but how can you do that? One way is by replying to comments as much as you can, by engaging with your readers, see how you can do that in this post and give your content a unique voice. Don’t just write in another blogger’s tone but be open and original.

  1. Start posting on social media

It’s no surprise how social media keeps popping up in every blogging tip list because social media can have so much impact on your blogging. This year, intentionally incorporate social media into your regular blog and content creation routine.

  1. Regular site maintenance

Blogging entails branding and your website is part of your brand. Your website is also how your readers get to interact with you so you need to keep it up to date, ensure everything works perfectly, update all ads that need to be updated. If you have a stats page, keep it up to date as well. Revamp and redesign as time goes on to keep it modern, fresh and clean.

  1. Research on your niche and target audience

As a blogger, you need to read and stay in the know. Know what kind of posts your readers and potential readers are interested in, what’s hot and trending in your niche right now? What are people searching for? Check out your analytics and find out what type of posts are doing very well, which have the most engagements so you can predict what your readers want from you and give them just that.

Which of these habits have you picked up this year? And what other ways do you plan on achieving blog success? Please share in the comments below. As always, thank you for reading.

Happy Blogging!

  1. interesting…so much work to be done. My biggest challenge is attending blogger events here in nigeria. I don’t even know when they hold, talk more of attending.
