Hi guys, welcome to another life in Canada blog post. I know it has been a hot minute but seriously life has been happening and I am trying to balance everything. Before moving on, let me with you guys ‘Happy New Month‘.
LIFE IN CANADA: PERSONAL LIFE UPDATE & DECISION-MAKING:
I can’t believe it has been 6 months since I moved to Canada [01/05/2021]. A lot has happened in 6 months since I moved here. So many great things have happened such as working with excellent brands, great partnership opportunities, meeting great people, and slowly building a new group of friends here. Oops, a couple of people noticed the name got an upgrade on Instagram [I am not saying anything but if you know, you know]. Eventually, I wish to share all updates with you guys when the time is right but for now, I am learning to soak-in the moment.
During this uncertain time, I’ve had to make some difficult decisions such as canceling my trip to Nigeria and missing the opportunity of being a bridesmaid (Again) because Canada is still on strict lockdown. This is going to be the 3rd wedding I am missing and it’s heartbreaking because these are my favorite girls. But, Instead of sobbing, I am just trying to deal with it, participate as much as I can even though I am far away because I am extremely happy for them all.
LIFE AS AN ENTREPRENEUR (6 MONTHS):
Initially, the plan was to move here, take like two or three months break from 9-5 before I start job hunting again. Well, due to the whole Covid-19 situation, every process is taking longer than usual. So, I have decided to focus on content creation full-time and running Arewa Label.
Being an entrepreneur full-time for the past 6 months has been filled with different emotions. Some days I feel lost and confused and some days it’s like I’ve figured it all out. But, on those days I feel down, I remind myself of the luxury of time. Having time to do what I love and enjoy and still make an income from it. With the ups and downs of Covid, my situation could be worse but I am glad to be in a good position where I can afford to do my thing for now.
So, if you are a full-time creator or entrepreneur feeling uncertain at the moment, remind yourself of the little blessing around you. Count every little blessing you can find around you.
On the brighter side, I am super excited about the new pieces coming on the Arewa Label website. We have new pieces coming and I’ve never been more excited. So, excuse me if I am a little bit MIA on my personal page, you can find me on @arewalabel
NEW MONTH MANIFESTATION:
It’s a new month and I am super excited about what’s coming. Firstly, it’s the last 10 powerful nights of Ramadan. So, I intend to spend more nights to boost my spirituality, pray more and embrace the holy few days of Ramadan.
This month, I am manifesting unexpected blessings, more opportunities, peace, and calm. I am praying for more brand deals, growth in my business, and positivity around me.
– How have you been and what are you manifesting for the month of May?
Looking forward to reading your comment below.
Love,
Maryam

Good to know that you’re finding your feet in Canada. I still remember when you announced your move and took us through the process.
I considered moving to Canada but the lockdown issue is making me consider Uk instead.
This month of May, I am manifesting abundant blessings, answered prayers, financial blessings and clarity.
Have a beautiful month!
